Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major

The Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, op.35 is an extremely popular classical music piece. And, the Violin Concerto is part of our classical CD collection.

Did you know that Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840 – 1893) came from an ancient Ukrainian Kozak (Cossack) family? Interestingly, Tchaikovsky composed some of his greatest works on the territory of present-day Ukraine. On the other hand, the Violin Concerto was composed in 1878 in Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva.

For our classical CD collection, the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D major, op.35 was recorded LIVE on February 12 – 13, 1999 at The Centre in the Square in Kitchener, Canada. The recording was conducted during a performance of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra and the violin solo was performed by concertmaster Stephen Sitarski. Musical direction by Myron Yusypovych – guest conductor.

We are continuing to upload our classical CD collection and our classical music DVD collection. Stay tuned!
